Week of 17 March 2026 - Event system, Squad formation, Feed card improvements

Published 18 March 2026By Nickle Lyu

Events System

A full Events system has been introduced. You can now browse, RSVP, and manage events on the platform. Events have visibility controls (public/private/invite-only), an event detail page with RSVP count, and a calendar view with Google and Apple calendar add buttons (with dynamic link generation).

Event Invitations & Email Notifications

Event organisers can now invite specific members to events. Invitation emails are sent as background jobs for improved performance. The calendar add buttons generate dynamic links for both Google Calendar and Apple Calendar.

Upcoming Events on the Homepage

The homepage now showcases the three most upcoming events, giving every visitor an immediate view of what's happening in the community.

Open Squads on the Homepage

The homepage now also displays open squads — teams actively looking for members. Founders and helpers can discover and join squads directly from the home page.

Squads: Reporting & Filtering

The Squads page has been significantly improved. You can now filter squads and report issues directly from the squad listing. Squad management actions have been streamlined with cleaner labels and layout.

Reactions Improvements

Reaction handling has been refactored across the feed — Articles, Statuses, and Update cards. The Celebrate reaction type has been removed in favour of a cleaner, consistent reaction set. Reaction counts update in real-time on comment and status cards.

Feed Card Improvements

StatusCard and UpdateCard components now handle long content with overflow controls. Comment counts update correctly after interaction.

The header navigation has been reordered for better priority — primary links are repositioned for quicker access. The Updates link in the header has been simplified.

Admin: Events Management

A new Events section has been added to the Admin Dashboard, including an Events admin table for full event lifecycle management.
